Creevykeel Pre-historic TombsCreevykeel Court Tomb is the finest example of a classic court tomb in Ireland today and is only 3 minutes from The Beach Hotel. The entrance is at the wide end of the cairn, there is a circular ritual court which is marked by upright stones, to a divided burial chamber beyond. Two further chambers, possibly passage graves inserted later into the complex, are sited behind. The tomb was built c 3,000 B.C. |
